     Overview

    IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is an abbreviation of International Mobile Equipment Identity Code. The international mobile equipment identification code is an "electronic serial number" consisting of 15 digits. It corresponds to each mobile phone, and the code is worldwide. only. Each handset will be assigned a globally unique set of numbers after assembly, which will be recorded by the manufacturer of the manufacturing process from production to delivery.


    The IMEI code is uniformly distributed by GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) and is authorized to be accepted by BABT (UK Communications Certification Management Committee).


    The IMEI consists of 15 digits and consists of:


    1. The first 6 digits (TAC, Type Approval Code) are "model approval numbers", which generally represent models.

    Most countries in the world can apply for TAC at BABT, except for the United States (applied by CTIA agencies in the US), China (applied by TAF institutions in China), and India (applied by MSAI institutions in India)
