ROHS certification

     ROHS certification

    1.2.1 Introduction

             RoHS is the abbreviation of "The Restion of the use of certain hazardous waste in the electrical and electronic equipment". Currently mainly focused on lead Pb in electrical and electronic products,

          Limitation of six harmful substances such as cadmium Cd, mercury Hg, hexavalent chromium Cr6+, polybrominated biphenyl PBBs, and polybrominated diphenyl ether PBDEs. More harmful substances will be restricted in the future.

              The directive was proposed by the European Parliament and the Council, and was implemented by the EU member states on July 1, 2006. Electronic and electrical products containing harmful heavy metals and polybrominated biphenyls and polybrominated diphenyl ethers as flame retardants are prohibited from entering the EU market.

    1.2.3 Technical Information

            RoHS Directive (2002/95/EC) Maximum allowable content (threshold) for hazardous substances: Cd threshold is 100ppmm; Pb, Hg, Cr6+, PBBs, PBDEs threshold is 1000ppm; the test method also needs coordination among countries.

    1.2.4 Product Range

    The Rohs Directive covers electronic and electrical products listed under the catalogues of AC1000V and DC1500:

    1, large household appliances: refrigerators, washing machines, microwave ovens, air conditioners, etc.

    2, small household appliances: vacuum cleaners, electric irons, hair dryers, ovens, watches, etc.

    3. IT and communication equipment: computers, fax machines, telephones, mobile phones, etc.

    4, civilian devices: radio, television, video recorders, musical instruments, etc.

    5. Lighting fixtures: fluorescent lamps other than household lighting, lighting control devices

    6, power tools: electric drills, lathes, welding, sprayers, etc. (except for large-scale industrial tools to be installed)

    7, toys / entertainment, sports equipment: electric cars, video game consoles

    8, medical equipment: radiation therapy instrument, ECG tester, analytical instruments, etc.

    9, monitoring / control equipment: smoke detectors, incubators, factory monitoring and control machines, etc.

    10, vending machine

    Among them, the RoHS directive does not apply to the 8th and 9th.

    All of the above are within the scope of the NTEK business.

    1.2.5 Factory inspection

      No factory inspection is required,

       However, ROHS will generally require a one-year validity period, mainly because some internationally renowned companies will require your report to be valid for one year when purchasing your products, or for half a year, or for limited Korean companies. Months are valid. Some companies even require that testing be performed only for the detection of each shipment. Why are they doing this? It is to continuously monitor the stability of the supplier's products, which depends entirely on the buyer's requirements. But once you find that your product has changed, such as production process changes, production process changes, or changes in your suppliers, you are required to re-test, these are the way companies protect themselves. At present, the average company requires a valid period of one year. In fact, the ROHS test report itself is based on the analysis of the product, as long as your product material, production process and process are unchanged, the test report can be effective for a long time.

    1.2.6 Certification Notes

    1. The first exemption list includes the relevant substances in the nine products:

    1 Mercury of small fluorescent lamps, each lamp containing no more than 5 mg of mercury;

    2 Mercury in general-purpose straight fluorescent lamps (with corresponding restrictions on mercury salt content);

    3 Mercury in straight fluorescent lamps for special purposes;

    4 mercury in other lamps;

    5 cathode ray tube, lead in electronic components fluorescent tubes;

    The lead in the alloy 6 does not exceed 0.35% by weight in the steel base, does not exceed 0.4% by weight in the aluminum base, and does not exceed 4% by weight in the copper base.

    Lead in high melting point solders (exemption period to 2010); lead in solders for network switches, signal transmission and communication network management equipment; lead in electronic ceramic components such as piezoelectric elements.

    8 De-oiling instructions (91/338/EEC and 76/769/EEC) prohibit cadmium plating other than application;

    9 Hexavalent chromium in a carbon steel cooling system for anti-corrosion of absorption refrigerators.

    2. The second batch of exemptions may include 22 products to be released.

    Controlled types and limits of hazardous substances

    The specific types and limits are listed in the core content of the above ROHS directive.

    Description:

    1. The above limit comes from a meeting of the European Union in December 2003. It has been widely adopted internationally. However, due to the fact that the final EU regulations have not been completed, the limit is still subject to change.

    2. For the types of controlled hazardous substances, the EU has been conducting relevant research and it is likely to continue to increase the types of controlled substances in the future.

    1.2.7 Certification Information and Process

    Certification data

    ROHS testing product data preparation:

    1. Only heavy metal detection: about 5-10g for solids and 5-10mL for liquids;

    2. Only detect brominated flame retardants: about 10-20g for solids and 10-20mL for liquids;

    3. Conduct organic metal contaminant detection for heavy metals: provide about 20-30g of sample;

    4. Perform other organic contaminant tests: provide about 30g of sample;

    5. Only the sample of the coating (coating) should be inspected. The approximate weight of the material part of the coating (coating) should be indicated. If the weight of the coating (coating) is less than the required amount of the sample, a coating is required. Coating)
